Best School Year Ever

The Best School Year Ever campaign is an annual contest run by Saint Michaels University School (SMUS) in Victoria, BC. The premise of the site was to promote the school’s annual contest in which one student is awarded a $50,000 scholarship to the school, including room and board.

The Best School Year Ever campaign is an annual contest run by Saint Michaels University School (SMUS) in Victoria, BC. The premise of the site was to promote the school’s annual contest in which one student is awarded a $50,000 scholarship to the school, including room and board.

SMUS approached Agentic with the desire to offer a contest that prospective students could enter in a creative, personalized, and imaginative way. Agentic came up with a contest in which contest entrants submit a video of themselves explaining why their year at SMUS would be the “best school year ever,” should they be awarded the prize of free tuition and boarding for one year.

Submission videos must include information about the applicant, including a bio, why they would have the best school year ever, what they love most about school, and why they would be a great addition to St. Michaels University School.

The site was designed to cater to young adults between grades 8 to 12. The challenge was to create a space that is inviting and visually stimulating, yet offers all of the necessary information to apply for the scholarship. The result is a site that is crisp and bright with large images and minimal text, while still maintaining an academic feel.
