Agentic is proud to launch the digital side of CBC’s new documentary series, 8th Fire – a provocative journey exploring Canada’s relationship with Aboriginal Peoples and finding a way forward. The HTML5 website is rich with content that provides a deeper look into the characters and stories in the four-part-TV series and beyond. There are high-energy videos such as Aboriginal 101 and The Relationship in 3 Minutes. An interactive map explores Aboriginal peoples throughout history to present day and enables users to explore the stories of people such as Shannen Koostachin, a young Cree teenager from an isolated community in Northern Ontario called Attwapiskat. She led the largest youth-led children’s rights campaign in Canadian history before her untimely death at the age of fifteen. The current crisis facing this community stresses the vital importance to improving Canada’s education and relationship with Aboriginal peoples.
