ImagineNative 2008 Film Festival

I just got back from Imaginenative in Toronto, which is an Indigenous film festival. I was giving a talk on a panel for Alternative distribution of films. It was a really great talk and Zacharias Kunuk and Norman Kohn from Isuma were also on the panel along with Caroline Habib and Shane Smith from Skyfax. Eileen Arandiga, CFC was our moderator, although she struggled in keeping Norman from dominating the entire panel. Still, it was full of interesting ideas and thoughts around on alternative distribution. My take is that the reality of online distribution is that there is zero money available, and the best use of it right now is figuring out the right promotional strategy.
